TRAFFIC ALERT: Right lane of Northbound I-270 over I-44 closed through Thursday morning commute

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has closed the right lane of northbound Interstate 270 over Interstate 44 due to a piece of equipment on a tractor trailer striking a girder on the I-270 bridge over I-44 Wednesday evening. The right lane of northbound I-270 will remain closed through the Thursday morning commute as engineers assess the extent of the damage and determine the needed repairs.

This northbound I-270 right lane closure begins after the exit ramp from northbound I-270 to eastbound I-44, which remains open. The westbound I-44 exit ramp is also open, but with a reduced exit lane width due to the girder damage.

Before motorists make their Thursday morning commute, drivers are advised to check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for up-to-date traffic and travel info at: http://traveler.modot.org/map/.
