Now Open: Buchanan County Route 752

Route 59 and Alabama Street intersection improvement project in St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation, working with Amino Brothers, Inc., opened Alabama Street (Missouri Route 752) at the intersection of U.S. Route 59 in St. Joseph on Monday, Feb. 9.

This stage realigned Alabama Street on the east side of Route 59. It also created right turn lanes to and from Route 59 and Alabama Street.

Crews are scheduled to begin work on Stages 2 and 3 with the construction of an access road to the businesses west of Route 59 and the realignment of Route U south of its current intersection with Route 59. To view a graphic of Stage 2, click here. Once complete, crews will then widen Route 59 and realign Valley Street.

Traffic Impacts: Crews will maintain temporary access to the businesses west of Route 59. During the realignment of Route U, work will take place off the current roadway. Traffic impacts for Route 59 and Valley Street will be shared at a later date.

Crews are scheduled to work Monday-Friday during daylight hours.
